How is Gollum the shadow side of Bilbo? I don't think Bilbo ever acted like that in the story

It mentions in the summary that Gollum the shadow side of Bilbo so Bibo should have acted like Gollum before in the story but didn't.

Gollumis essentially a Hobbit but, unlike Gollum, has not been fully corrupted by the ring. Gollum is a representation of full corruption which Bilbo constantly fights against.
