What is it's importance?
The town of Dale, a name that means 'green pasture' is the desolation of an archetype. Smaug is destroying life, greenery and pastures.
The town was located on the southern slopes of the Lonely Mountain and destroyed by the dragon Smaug. After Smaug's death, Bard Bowman rebuilt Dale and ruled there.
