Based on what you know of the effects of Ebola and what you know of wartime injuries, do you think that this is a fair statement? Explain your answer.
In the scene when Charlotte is working on the dead monkeys, Preston writes, “She was doing a hot necropsy in Level 4, perhaps the most dangerous work in a space suit. This was a rocket ride, and it thrilled her. Her hands worked within a membrane thickness of a death worse than any death in combat” (326). Charlotte considers a death from Ebola “worse than any death in combat.”
