Diagnosis
Some people make a slow recovery but most die a horrible death. Basically the disease attacks the organs. During the recovery period, skin peels off the face, hands, feet, and genitals. Some of the men suffer "blown up, inflamed, semi-rotten testicles" (Preston 29). The virus also lingers in the fluid inside the eyeballs. Marburg usually attacks the eyes and the testicles.
