What happened to dr. Shem Musoke, who worked on Charles Monet? How could this have been prevented?

I believe that Dr. Shem Musoke contracts the ebola virus from a patient who vomits on him. I believe that he contracted Marburg but survived. If Dr. Musoke had worn protective clothing, he might not have contracted the virus.
