Laura Lyons was Frankland's daugher. She lived at Coombe Tracey. Lyons had left her abusive husband, and Sir Charles had ofered her help. Unfortunately, Laura Lyons as also Stapleton's mistress, and Stapleton talked her into helping him kill Sir Charles.
