What do we learn about Celia's story?

Celia grew up in the same town as El Patron, where she worked in a factory as a cook. Over time, she decided that she wanted cross over the border and move to the United States, but the coyote that she hired to transport her turned her into the Farm Patrol. El Patron happened to be there when she was being questioned, and when he found out she could cook, he took her home. According to Celia, "From that moment on, I belonged to El Patron. I'll always belong to him. He'll never let me go".
