Saroyan and Local life Style in his works

I'm not sure about local colr, but the ideas and concepts Saroyan expresses as an author are directly related to his own experiences as a child. He'd lived in an orphanage and has always felt abandoned; his greatest desire was to be included rather than isolated. He uses the town of Ithaca (fictional) to represent the town he grew up in (Fresno).
