Study Objectives

    To understand the underlying themes of oppression and resistance in The Hunger Games, and consider them in the context of current events.

    To trace Katniss's development as a heroine and a narrator, and to think about how she is shaped by the harsh society she lives in.

    To identify the many different ways in which characters all levels of privilege resist the oppression of the Capitol.

  4. 4

    To trace the role of media and design in the text.
