What are examples, before the hunger games begun, of Katniss being selfish?

I know she was quite selfish during the games, I dont know of how she was selfish before though.

Katniss is a pretty sympathetic protagonist. If anything, she is too giving. She offers herself up for the games to save her little sister Prim from an almost certain death. She also takes care of Rue in the games. I don't think we can call Katniss selfish.
