The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
Did Henrietta's race have a role in her medical treatment? If so, what role did it play? Do you think that race still plays a role in medical treatment today?

That question cannot be definitively answered. None-the-less, from the novel, we can infer that Henrietta's care was standard, but not careful. It is said that she was sent home too soon after treatments, brushed off when having adverse reactions, and that her cancer was so far spread, there really wasn't anything the doctors could do. Was this because of race... I really don't know. What do you think?
