How did the education level of the Lacks family affect their understanding of what happened to Henrietta?

The Lacks family was not highly educated. They were unaware of much of what happened to Henrietta, as was Henrietta herself. For most of us, trips to the doctor, illnesses, and prognosis are difficult to understand, even with higher levels of education. Not to mention, the emotional turmoil caused by this type of situation. I'd like to say that education had nothing to do with the outcome.... questions and inquiries are a natural part of our make-up, even when we don't understand at all. In addition, medicine has changed greatly over the years.... our outlook is different, more questions are asked, and doctors seem to have very different relationship with patients and their families.
