I would think Henrietta would not be abused and taken advantage of today. While the American healthcare system is not ideal for low-income earners, it still exists. Henrietta would have undergone various high-tech tests to diagnose her cancer. She would most likely receive chemo-therapy and radiation treatment as well as surgery.
