Was Dr. McKusick and Susan Hsu request was ethical or not?

Dr. McKusick directed Susan Hsu to contact Henrietta's children for blood samples to further HeLa research despite not having informed consent for their research. No, this does not sound ethical at all. It sounds that they have not only used Henrietta Lacks as raw material for their research but want to use her kids as well.
