Why is the situation comical in Act 2?

In Act II, Scene I, Wilde brings humor to a sad situation by having his characters obsess over trivialities, when in fact, there are far greater things to worry or obsess about. This is evident in the lack of attention to Algernon's death and amazing resurrection, as opposed to the constant worry over little things that so not matter.
