In which way was Equiano’s society similar to that of the Europeans?

Equiano paints a very positive portrait of the Eboe people of whom he claims to be descended. He calls attention to their morals and their simple, unassuming manners. Like the Europeans, his culture had slaves as well. Equino, however, points out that they only enslaved criminals or prisoners of war.
