What does Olaudah mean by "a stickado?"

In the first chapter, Olaudah talks about the musical instruments they had in Eboe and mentions that they played an instrument similar to a "stickado."

Does anyone know what this instrument is or is this just lost to history?

I think he is meaning an instrument consisting of small bars of wood, flat at the bottom and rounded at the top, and resting on the edges of a kind of open box.
