what was the conflict and what was the solution

I briefly looked through the book once and then saw the movie based on the book called Hugo (2011). The conflict surrounds a boy who is an orphan in a Paris train station trying to put together his late father's Automaton. The great early magician and film maker,Georges Melies, eventually helps the boy fix his Automaton as well as his life. I loved the fantastic imagery and imagination of this story.
