What is the "magic key" Jurgis has that helps him earn money?

Basically Jurgis enters the Chicago crime scene. Jurgis goes to jail and the first person he meets is Jack Duane. Jack tells him to find him once he gets out of prison and Jurgis does that after his ten days behind bars. Jack tells Jurgis that he wants to make him a part of his crime operation ,and Jurgis is grateful for the chance. You can check out more of Jurgis's new crime life below,
