what is your impression of the taliban?

I sometimes scare myself at my disdain for them. I am in no way connected to these people but, from what I have read in credible sources, The Taliban are nothing short of evil. They hide behind conservative Islamic ideology to wage war on everything they hate while fulfilling their own needs. These are some nasty people.

That being said, there are also countless atrocities being committed by all kinds of nations in different ways. Sometimes I wonder if it isn't so much a particular group rather than human nature in various forms.
