The title, The Last Lecture, is significant because the speaker, Professor Randy Pausch, had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer. As a result, he prepared his last lecture, which was prepared in book form, to pass on what he believed was important to his students, and to dedicate those words to his children. The book's meaning was simple..... live your life. His words were words of wisdom...... knowledge attained along the way, and a guide for his readers achieve their dreams.

The significance of the "The Last Lecture" as given by Randy Pausch was the one way the this professor could say a final good bye to all his students who he was currently teaching and others with whom he worked. We all learn in different ways and we must experience life as it comes and we really cannot plan how things will work out during our lives.
