Explain the roles of "Gunpowder"and "Daredevils" in his story.

Gunpowder is the horse lent to Ichabod by Hans Van Ripper. tHe horse in many ways personifies Ichabod. Although he is an old plow horse , he has a viciousness about him. The horse also looks awkward like Ichabod. Daredevil is Brom's favourite horse. It also personifies its rider. It is thought that the horse could only be managed like Brom himself.

Gunpowder has the role of providing Ichabod transportation to the quilting frolic. Daredevil has the role of transporting Brom Bones to the quilting frolic.
