Ares doesn't kill Percy because Percy promises to return the lightening bolt, as well as the hel, to Ares when he finds them.

Ares doesnt kill percy because there was light fading and something was stopping ares. Percy Annabeth and Grover dont know what or who it is so neitheir do we.
