When Tom Bambadil wore the ring why he did not disappear?

In chapter 7 at Tom Bambadil House the first book he wore the ring but it did not affects him and when Frodo wore it and disappeared Tom was still able to see him.Why???

Bombadil is a Maia, and the disappearing affect does not work on the Maia. Only those deemed lower creatures disappear when wearing the ring. This is the same reason the disappearing affect doesn't work for Sauron either.
