Prufrock - men-women relations?

The relationship denoted in this poem seems to be one-sided. Is he in love? If he is..... he's extremely self absorbed and ignores the person he's speaking to in the prose. He is terrified of rejection, but he's also vain and obsessed with trivialities. In the end, the relationship goes nowhere; it doesn't say much for real relationships.
