Describe lumber room
THe lumber room is meant for storage and is seemingly uninteresting. The room itself is described as a place of great mystery and wonder in the story. The aunt forbids children in it so Nicholas is very curious anout it. When Nicholas finally sees it, he is astounded by the “wonderful things for the eye to feast on” that he finds there and the aunt’s “bare and cheerless” house. He is struck by the tapestry that depicts a hunting scene and he also admires other unusual objects he finds, like a candlestick shaped like twining snakes, a teapot shaped like a duck, and a book containing pictures of exotic birds.
