why cant olivia give janet her share of father estate

Can't or won't? She can give Julia her share of the estate........ she has a will and a marriage certificate for proof that Julia is her father's daughter. She 'won't' because morally she doesn't believe it was a true marriage, that marriage is a right given by God. She feels that to acknowledge the marriage or to announce it will shame her father.
