Briefly describe the attack on the convoy?

The archers shoot out a tire when they slow down at a curve. Tree shouts out when he sees the driver about to shoot, and someone jerks him out of the way. Someone else fires a gun and French realizes that Derrick has killed the driver of the front car. French realizes that Derrick is feeling as he did after he killed Travis, and knows that Derrick will not fire any more shots today.

The van is stopped and they rush to the back, only to find the rear doors are locked. The horn is blasting so that no one can hear anything. Miig runs to get the key out of the cab of the van. French is surprised when he sees Wab and Chi-Boy and suddenly realizes they are a couple. French looks around the side of the van and sees Miig struggling with the driver. They hear a gunshot, then Miig returns with the keys. French believes Miig has been shot, but he opens the rear of the van and they see that the driver shot Minerva. Minerva comforts French, though it is clear she is dying. Minerva says the word “kiiwen” to Miig. They begin to sing the traveling song together and Minerva dies. French is frantic, feeling they need Minerva. Rose is crying and holding onto Minerva. She says that “kiiwen” means “go home.”
