The Marrow Thieves

“Mitch had sacrificed himself so I could live, so I had to live. It was the only thing left I could do for him” (7). How important is this commitment Frenchie makes to Mitch – that he will live? Why does this commitment seem so big?

I didn't know how to answer this question with a bit of an example from the book. Please and thank you help me!

Mitch was Frankie's brother. Mitch's death destroyed what familie that Frenchie knew. With the destruction of his biological family, Frenchie must learn to accept the people he is leading as his new family. They must become like Mitch to Frenchie.
