What is the matrix? What is wrong with living in the world created by the matrix?

The Matrix is the system, which simulates these signals and feeds them into the humans connected to it. People are essentially living in a simulation that is fed into the brains of humans in fetal or cocoon like state. The problem with the living in the Matrix is that it is not real: only illusion.
