What happened when Teresa tried to type in the last word "PUSH"? What were they supposed to do instead?

Teresa has entered all the words but the computer won't let her enter the last word: PUSH. Then they find a small red button set into the wall with the following words printed above it: KILL THE MAZE. Teresa pushes it, and everything goes silent. Somewhere down the dark tunnel they hear a door open.
