Why did everything seem so pointless to Thomas at the end of Ch.33? Do you think any of the others feel this way? Why or why not ?

Thomas felt it was pointless to search for a way out of the maze when they couldn't stay long enough to really explore it. Minho believes they will eventually find an exit, but in my opinion, none of the boys really think they will make it.... not at this point in the text.
