How has Gregor's sister changed since Gregor's condition has deteriorated?

Gregor's sister becomes detached, whereas, she initially took on the role of Gregor's caretaker. Eventually, she doesn't even bother to choose food for him or to properly clean his room. This is a direct result of the disintegration of their family, and their view of Gregor as less than human.
