The Monkey's Paw
What type of mood is established in the beginning of the story? What helps determine that sense of feeling?
Explain your answer
Explain your answer
There is a sense of warm contentment, as a warm fire burns on a cold night. Mr. White and his son play chess, and Mrs. White knits. The mood , however, changes with the arrival of Sergeant-Major Morris. The mood quickly turns dark, foreboding, and surreal.... similar to the weather outside.
