Here is a classic man vs man conflict. Zaroff is the predator and Rainsford is the prey: the former hunter (Rainsford) becomes the hunted. In an escape story such as this, there must be a classic showdown between the two opposing forces. There will be a final battle between Zaroff and Rainsford.
