Yes, I agree with Zaroff's belief that "instinct is no match for reason" because okay,so instinct isn't always right because you're not really thinking when you follow your instincts you're just like following what you feel is right, but reason is when you use your mind and really think so reason is mostly right, that's why I agree with Zaroff's belief. Rainsford demonstrated both instinct and reason during the hunt by 1- planning the traps that is how he demonstrated reason because he is thinking and trying to figure out a way to kill the general 2-When he jumped off the cliff that demonstrates instinct because he didn't think before jumping he had limited choices of getting caught by the general or jumping off the cliff and he followed his instincts so that demonstrates both instinct and reason.
