General Zaroff is he a believable character

This is a good example of what is called escape fiction. Escape fiction often has one dimensional and unreal characters like General Zaroff. The Zaroff character is wholly unreal. He is basically a man who lives alone, Ivan not much of a talker, who sleeps in the day and hunts people at night.
