How is rainsford most likely a dynamic character?

I have this for an english slide show presentation and I'm not a big fan of this book.

It is hinted that Rainsford understands how an animal might feel while he is being hunted by Zaroff. This merely suggests a change but we really don't know if he would actually stop hunting animals. This is an escape story and the characters are pretty flat.
