specifically explain how this creates situational irony
Irony is found in the fact that this world famous hunter winds up on Zaroff's island and quickly finds the world turned around when he becomes the hunted. Due to his time in war he has the utmost respect for human life, but he has never seen hunting in a comparable way. Becoming prey changes his attitude a bit as he learns to empathize with the animals, but we never really find out if it affects him to the degree that he'll stop hunting. We do know that for the first time in his life he had to deal with real fear and the primal instincts that are often necessary for survival.
