Rainsfords character traits?

Rainsford is a stereotypical escape fiction hero. He is strong, an expert hunter, and calm under pressure. There really is not much wrong with him. He does not think outside his limited world views. This sets up the theme involving Rainsford discovering what an animal might feel being hunted.
