Rainsford's external conflicts are comprised of the hunt itself.... survival, tactics, outwitting Zaroff. Internally, he must absord Zaroff's atrocities in capturing and hunting men.... all the while, rethinking his own views on the hunt. Particularly, the emotions (or not) of the hunted.
