How does Madame Loisel's character change as a result of the hardship she has to endure?

Mrs. Loisel "aged five years" in a week, lived in poverty, dismissed her servant, cleaned and shopped for herself, and haggled for bargains to boot. She learned how to economize, and she learned how good her life had really been. She also learned what it was like to have undone hair, messy clothing, and the hands of a woman who had to work. Her voice became shrill, and her personality matched..... she was a mess.
