Mathilde's devoted husband who is content with his humble lifestyle. He finds it completely incomprehensible that Mathilde does not accept their lifestyle; nonetheless, he appeases her desires for glamor and fun because he wishes for her to be happy. I think the guy is pretty loyal to his wife considering her obsession with being rich and subsequent loss of the necklace. He still stuck by her when they had to work to pay it back.
