Jeanne's husband Nicolas met Nicole le Guay, a prostitute, at the Palais-Royal who looked very much like the Queen. After visiting with Nicole several time, Nicolas introduced her to his wife, who claimed to be close to the Queen and offered Nicole payment for a favor.
