The Old Man and the Sea

In the Old Man and the Sea, Hemingway begins to equate Santiago to the marlin. Explain how this is accomplished.

Santiago ends up calling the Marlin his "brother". The majesty of the Marlin brings about Santiago's majesty in his younger days. The fight, beauty, strength and grace of the great fish represents that of Santiago when he was young.
