Why was Framton in the village?

Framton Nuttel, the central character to the story, suffering from nervous condition follows his doctor's advice and moves to the country village.

Framton was a rather nervous person. His doctors wanted him to relax, so Framton went down to the village. However, Framton's sister gave Framton a letter of introduction to Vera's family, and Framton probably ended up worst off than before.
