At the end of the chapter, Cherry says she won’t go see Johnny in the hospital. A) Did it seem Ponyboy understood why she didn’t want to go? Why? B) Explain Cherry’s conflicted feelings about Johnny and Bob.

Cherry is angry with Johnny for killing her boyfriend Bob Sheldon. It was, of course not Jonny's fault. Bob had beaten him up before and Johnny really felt that Bob was drowning Ponyboy in the fountain. Cherry feels the way she feels but she has not reconciled herself with the facts of that night.
