Ponyboy resents Randy's presence and doesn't understand what he's worried about.... he believes that Randy's parents will pull a few strings and for him..... it will be over. His initial reaction changes, however, when he acknowledges Randy's sincerity, and also reveals that it was Johnny, not Ponyboy, that killed Bob.
