How does Johnny die?

Johnny dies from injuries he suffered in the fire.

After Johnny kills Bob, he and Pony leave their town to escape the police. While they stay in the countryside ina n abandoned church they accidentally start a fire in the church. Pony realizing that it his fault for leaving a lit cigarette in the church, he goes to save some children trapped in the fire. Johnny follows Johnny is the last to leave the church, he gets hit by a brick, breaking his spine, he also got burned really badly. Dallas Winston (Dally) saves Johnny, but Johnny is fatally injured, sadly taking away his life. This later leads to Dally killing himself out of the sadness of Johnny's death, Johnny was the only person Dally truly loved.
