Hw do the events of Chapter 6 show that this stereotype isn’t true? What admirable or positive traits do you see Ponyboy and Johnny display in this chapter? Are these new traits or have the boys always had them in the first place?

The Greasers are stereotyped as troublemakers because of their socio-economic status and their appearances. Yes; they do get into trouble, and many of the Greasers even enjoy it.... the Socs, none-the-less, enjoy it too. In Chapter Six, Ponynoy and Johnny are brave, courageous, and most of all.... they're heroes. The boys don't think about themselves, and they jump in to help others in need. These are not new traits.... these are the boys, who for the most part, have never had the opportunity to show who they really are, because most people cannot see beyond the stereotype.
